Formland creates growth opportunities for entrepreneurs

Emerging talents in the interior and design industry are being supported at Formland 2016.

The NEXT STAGE area, which presents small new start-ups, is an initiative that offers interesting entrepreneurs from Denmark and abroad the opportunity to establish their names in the industry.

As a trade fair, we have a big responsibility to help entrepreneurs in the interior and design business on their way, as they play an extremely important role in shaping the future of the industry. NEXT STAGE will serve as a gathering point for entrepreneurs – it will carry more weight and foster further dynamism and creative energy, says Mai-Britt Risvig Flyvholm, Project Manager at MCH.

A three-stage rocket
As the name implies NEXT STAGE is the next stage of a multistage rocket for entrepreneurs. The first stage is CREATORS COMMUNITY (formerly Nordic Buzz), where start-up designers from Denmark and abroad apply for and are allocated a stand in the entrepreneurs’ area. Next follows the chance to exhibit at NEXT STAGE. The third stage is exhibiting as an ordinary exhibitor among Formland’s other established exhibitors.

This way, Formland helps entrepreneurs to get a foothold in the industry. In addition, it gives our visitors the chance to see the newest and the best that entrepreneurs have to offer, says Mai-Britt Risvig Flyvholm.

Energy and creative return
One of the exhibitors whom visitors can meet at NEXT STAGE is Ane Lagoni, who makes unique and simple handmade jewellery. For the Aarhus-based designer, it is a huge plus that entrepreneurs can be introduced to the industry through Formland’s initiatives:

  • At NEXT STAGE I am able to create my own Ane Lagoni universe and show what I can do and who I am as a designer. This is not something that would otherwise be possible as a new one-man business wanting to keep costs under control, says the jewellery designer.
  • Participating at CREATORS COMMUNITY made me aware of the potential of my business and my designs, and the direction I want to go. In connection with the last Formland, my business took a quantum leap forwards, and I met both dealers and a very useful network in the form of the other exhibitors. It gave me a lot of energy and creative feedback, and I’m greatly looking forward to being part of it again at NEXT STAGE, says Ane LagoIn future, NEXT STAGE will take place be at the Formland Autumn fairs, which are held every year in August.

The area for entrepreneurs – CREATORS COMMUNITY – will be at the Formland Spring fairs, the next one being Formland Spring 2017.

The area - previously known as Nordic Buzz - has outgrown its former name. This is because the entrepreneurial event receives considerable international interest from exhibitors who are not only based in the Nordic countries, but in the UK, Germany, the Netherlands etc. With its new name, the event for entrepreneurs stands stronger and geared for further expansion.

Formland Autumn 2016 takes place at MCH Messecenter Herning from 18-21 August.
For 32 years, Formland has gathered business people with a passion for design and interior twice a year at MCH Messecenter Herning. Read more at www.formland.com
