A end grain block floor is an appealing alternative.

A end grain block floor is wood cut across the grains, thereby showing the natural growth rings. The end grain blocks are always cut rectangular and are available in various sizes and thicknesses.

The characteristics of the end grain block floor are its great strength and the growth rings’ aesthetic impact. A end grain block floor is also an interesting alternative that can be used for many different types of interiors, for instance as a decorative wall covering. End grain block floors have been used for paving streets back in the 1900’s (Paris, Rue de Rivoli & Rue de l’Opera; Berlin, Potsdam; New York, Fifth Avenue).

End grain block flooring is manufactured in oak, smoked oak (Choko wood), spruce, pine and larch.

Vica Wood deals with ordinary untreated block floors and as something new ‘Pave’s de Paris” end grain block floors.

Pave’s de Paris (end grain block floor)

A unique wooden floor, that provides the benefits of a tile and stone flooring, but without noise pollution or cold feet.

Pave’s de Paris combines different features in a way that seems impossible. Although it is made of wood it has an unrivaled hardness compared with other wooden floors. It’s easy to mount, can be delivered treated and is extremely durable.

Pave’s de Paris is manufactured in oak, beech, red oak, guantambu, irokko, larch, douglas fir and in other woods if ordered.

Surfaces
Traditionally mounting of a end grain block floor is done untreated which is why surface treatment is carried out afterwards preferably by oiling.

“Pave’s De Paris” block floors are also delivered treated.
