The Swedish Torsten and Wanja Söderberg Award goes to Dane

Margrethe Odgaard has received one million SEK in recognition of her her talent and achievements. The price is the largest of it’s kind worldwide and works to support Nordic design and collaboration.

The jury’s motivation includes the following considerations: “Margrethe Odgaard uses textile as a basis in her design. She works from an angle of craftsmanship, tactility and thoroughness. She thinks with her hands, and her process is characterized by musicality.”
Margrethe Odgaard’s design has a focus on colours, patterns and tactility.

The award ceremony will take place at the Röhsska Mueseum in Gothenburg on the 4th November 2016, where her work will be part of an exhibition of price winners’ design.

Margrethe Odgaard runs her own design studio in Copenhagen and is a partner with the furniture designer Chris L. Halstrøm in the design duo Included Middle.
