Fredericia Furniture masters the synergy of design

The Double F Hotel event was an impressive and colourful tour de force

During last week’s 3daysofdesign in Copenhagen, Fredericia Furniture invited to quite a different setting for the design company’s products in their showroom. Gone were the pale colours and the tranquillity of maintaining the modern but modest interior.

Fredericia Furniture had teamed up with Darling Creative Studio, by Uffe Buchard and Jens Løkke, in order present a refreshing setting for the launch of the new members of the Pato chair family. And Darling delivered.

Design integrity
Thomas Graversen, the owner of Fredericia explained the idea with the exhibition: “The Fredericia products were designed in different decades, but here at the Double F Hotel you can experience them in new materials and new colours. It works only because the products have design integrity. Design integrity means that a piece of furniture is equally strong and relevant thirty years after it’s first launch. Besides, the designs can be mixed and matched from different decades and still make a beautiful ensemble.”

Uffe Buchard added his own perspective to the Double F Hotel:

- In fashion we often work in order to “sex things up”. The job is to make the products look like a million. In the case of Fredericia everything already is a million. Therefore, our focus has been to create different atmospheres in the sections presenting a dining room, a lounge, a sitting room, and a bar. In that way, we have underlined the versatility of the products.

Thomas Graversen added:

- A lot of people live in different places, where they try to feel equally at home. This exhibition shows, that our design can truly make a home away from home.

The colourful design demonstrates that Frederica can cross over in the dimensions of time and place alike. The three new Plato chairs launched at the event blended perfectly while still adding new dimension to the Frederica universe.
