Marimekko appoints new CMO

Senior VP of Scandinavian Living at Fiskars Corporation is relocating to a new job

Päivi Paltola, M.Sc. (Econ.), has been appointed as Marimekko’s Chief Marketing Officer (CMO) and member of the Management Group as of 30 January 2017.

At the moment, Päivi Paltola works for the consumer goods company Fiskars Corporation as Senior Vice President of the Scandinavian Living business unit. She is responsible for brands such as Iittala, Royal Copenhagen, Arabia and Rörstrand as well as their global digital and retail network concept development.

Previously she has acted, for example, as Brand Director and Category Manager at the Finnish cosmetic company Lumene. She is also a member of the Board of Directors of the Foundation for the Design Museum.

- Päivi Paltola has strong experience of international omnichannel retail and marketing as well as internationalising Finnish consumer brands. In addition to boosting our international brand awareness, we focus our marketing increasingly on supporting Marimekko’s global retail-driven business. I believe that Päivi’s experience will be an asset to us in this work and it’s great to have such a versatile professional to lead and develop our marketing to a new level, says Tiina Alahuhta-Kasko, Marimekko’s President and CEO.
