New classics in glassware

Kähler is bringing something new to the table - this is Omaggio like you've never experienced it before

This autumn, Kähler will present the iconic Omaggio vase as well as some new rounded candle holders in an entirely new material - hand-blown glass.

The idiom is still contemporary, with soft and organic lines and the material adds a new dimension to the design as light is naturally dispersed by the walls of the vase and candle holder.

The combination of fine stripes and the lovely translucent medium results in a beautiful interplay of light and shadow. The new glass vases and candle holders are available in clear, plum and steel blue colours.

The Omaggio vase is designed by Stilleben duo Jelena Schou Nordentoft and Ditte Reckweg. It is the product that put the company on the world map and this is the first time Kähler has decided to launch it in a material other than the original ceramic.

Surprising renewal
Natural materials complement each other and this is especially true of ceramics and glass. Kähler is therefore launching a small, rounded candle holder and two variations on the Omaggio vase in hand-blown glass, all of which bear the distinctive, stylish stripes.

The new designs come in different heights from the rest of the series and thus have playful references to existing classics in terms of both material and size. On the new vase, the stripes are smaller than usual and the combination of this graphic detail with the glass version succeeds in conveying a different impression.

Both vases and candle-holders are endowed with elegant lightness. Translucent glass brings a feeling of both life and luminosity, whenever the candle’s glow highlights the surface of the holder or light shines through the vase, no matter where it stands.

Traditional craftmanship
The new Omaggio vases and candle holders are executed in mouth-blown glass, to achieve a unique and particular lightness and quality.

From start to finish, each product undergoes a process whereby up to 15 skilled craftsmen and women ensure that all aspects of its manufacture are correct. The process results in a wonderful design in the very best quality.
