Unique Unico in soft pastels

This spring 2017, Kähler is presenting a whole new colour scale of soft pastels in the Unico series, which is inspired by Japanese artisanal traditions and Danish design aesthetics.

Since its launch, the series has established itself as a favourite in modern handcraft arts, and it is characterised by the application of a special, reactive glaze that ensures that no two pieces are the same.

The new coloured glazes create a subtle stylistic look while still blending in with the series’ existing palette of both intense and neutral glaze colours.

With a unique look and singular talent for glazework, design and palette selection, Danish designer Anders Arhøj has created something truly special with Kähler’s Unico ceramics series.

Spring pastels for a unique design
Since its launch in 2015, Unico with its distinctive shapes and colours has been testament to an unorthodox and creative approach to design, contrasting with the more neutral and stylistically consistent designs that still dominate interior decoration trends.

The new, bright sorbet-like tones lead one’s thoughts to the shades of spring. The series consists of three different vases, a flowerpot, a dish and a bowl.

Proud traditional craftsmanship
It is the craftsmanship that goes into finding the perfect mix of ingredients for the special glaze that helps create that particular, visual structure that gives every Unico design a distinct look.

The thick glaze ‘behaves’ differently every time during and after firing, which means that every single Unico piece is one of a kind.

A Unico piece is accordingly a personal and special addition to the home décor and serves as a superb example of Kähler’s ambition to create art that anyone can afford.
