Fatty is a new, large, wide and soft sofa from Eilersen

Based on Baseline, one of the greatest successes in Eilersen's history, Fatty combines elegance with practical features

15 years ago Jens Juul Eilersen designed the couch Baseline, which with its depth, broad armrests and high comfort has become one of Eilersen's greatest successes.

Now, Jens Juul Eilersen once again has sat down at the drawing board and created a new interpretation of Baseline, called Fatty.

The idea behind Fatty
Jens Juul Eilersen's idea with Fatty has been to make a frame available and leave it up to the individual how the final result will be. Whether it is composed of symmetrical or asymmetrical modules is entirely up to each individual.

Fatty has both a broad, low back and armrests and a deep seat. The combination of elegant and practical features make it suitable for placing in the middle of the room like a sculpture. The wide armrests are, in addition to acting as a comfortable head rest, also useful as a practical placement of for example a tray.

Culmination of knowledge
Fatty is a culmination of Jens Juul Eilersen's knowledge of how a couch must be sized and composed. What are the objectives needed for creating an elegant expression its size and its many pillows, and how it should be built around a frame in solid pine and upholstered as a sandwich with varying hardnesses of stable foam, so it does not lose its shape or comfort.

As Eilersen's other sofas Fatty is sold with a removable cover that can always be replaced if the desire for a new textile should arise.
