The Danish design company Juul got a great start with their sofa concept. Now, the side table Juul 012 is introduced at this year's Stockholm Furniture & Light Fair.
Juul 012 is designed by designer and architect Claus Christian Simonsen, and it is Juul's bid for a new side table that builds on the Danish design tradition, where honest materials and discrete details make the big difference.
Juul has chosen to manufacture the side table in glass, granite and marble, as these living structures are an interesting counter to the typical materials of the home: Wood, leather and textile.
Hand-picked materials and earthbound
Four legs in shiny, chromed or powdered black are held together with four "feet" in the same format and material. In addition to giving Juul 012 a sculptural expression, it also adds stability to the table.
Throughout the design process, it has been essential for Juul to create a side table in durable materials to withstand daily wear and tear in the best possible way.
The usual black, white and green marble has been supplemented with 10 more types as Juul predicts that marble continues to play a crucial role in future trends. Handpicked marble qualities even offer rich opportunity to create exciting decor and to shed extra shine over the traditional gray or black sofa.
Juul 012 can also be dimmed and made completely tight and classic with a black frame combined with a black granite or a transparent, smoked or gray glass. The side table is a fusion of precious materials in a single design, which also shows Juul's ability to create a connection between furniture and space.
