Note designs collection for Fogia

Note Design Studio has launched a mini collection for Fogia during Stockholm Design Week

Note Design Studio was recently tasked with creating a mini collection for Fogia. The result was revealed during Stockholm Design Week and consists of a lamp, a table and a line of ceramics.

Persimon lamps
The brief given to Note was to create Fogia’s first lamp. The result is a bold expression and a study in materiality and grace.

Taking its inspiration from the segments hidden inside the contours of the persimon fruit, Note explored the limits of scale in the lamp’s glass shade. Could glass be used in design as a textile? How thin could the lamp be without compromising durability?

Persimon breaks new ground for Fogia, and our longstanding collaborators Note was the only logical partner for creating the inaugural piece in our new lighting range

Upp ceramics
Upp by Note is another Fogia piece that falls between genres. Like Andreas Engesvik’s Bowl before it, Upp could be a pedestal, stand, or tray but it’s also equally happy being used decoratively when combined in numbers.

It’s the first time Note has collaborated on a ceramic as well, marking new territory for the designers. Yet they bring that unmistakable tonal playfulness and assuredsense of form which denotes the studio’s work. As any true design lover knows, it’s always wise to play with all dimensions—one must never forget to look up.

Grande table
Big things stand strong as they say. Strong and timeless in the case of Grande, Note’s new table.

Sturdy in oak, with not a sign of veneer or faux-finish, Grande is a table for people with hints of Japanese shaker design blended with Scandinavian detailing. Designed with a purposeful duality, Note found a balance between dining, meeting and working.

Today’s spaces, whether at work or home, are increasingly open-plan with the table acting as a magnet for interaction and socialising. The table itself has undergone a testing period at Note’s own studio, serving as a resilient task surface, informal dining table, bench and emerged as beautiful and utilitarian as the day it were made
