Georg Jensen Damask Easter Collection celebrates 40 years

Georg Jensen Damask celebrates the 40-year anniversary of the immortal Easter collection created by one of Denmark’s most well-known weavers and textile designers, Bodil Bødtker-Næss.

In the anniversary version, a new contemporary shade has been added, which Georg Jensen Damask refers to as Lemon Curd, and the tone features a warm and neutral yellow.

The Danish textile company invites all Easter guests to mark the anniversary at a most welcoming yet simple Easter table counting a table cloth, napkins, a runner and placemats in the new shade enlivening the dining room with subtle yellow tones providing a burst of energy.

The collection is made from 100% Egyptian cotton and weaved according to proud damask weaving traditions. The Easter collection also offers a Lemon Curd version of an Easter tea towel, woven in a cotton/linen blend, for efficiently absorbing and releasing all liquids in the kitchen when preparing the festive Easter meals.

The pattern of the Easter collection features a modern abstract feather pattern with a sweet Easter chicken decoration. Geometrical patterns and nature were great sources of inspiration for Bodil Bødtker-Næss, something that made her Easter tablecloth immortal.

“Tablescape” Inspiration
The home décor landscape in Denmark is bountiful, and Danes go to great length to deck the halls during festive periods of the year. Danes love inviting people to their homes and put together a creative “tablescape”.

During Easter, they will sprinkle eggs across their Easter tables, often with a seasonal garden-inspired centerpiece as its star. A source list for a Danish Easter table setting could include eggs, ferns, twigs, moss and other natural ornamentation.
